Jefferson Memorial Cemetery & Funeral Home is honored to host one of the Liberty Bells from Bells Across PA, a statewide initiative marking America’s 250th birthday with replica bells on display in each of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties through 2026. The Jefferson bell, "Windows into History," represents our historic cemetery in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. Designed by local artist Scott Saloney, the bell pays homage to the historical statuary, architecture and site's rich history, with imagery that mirrors the vibrant glass artwork found throughout our scenic grounds. Details: The bell will remain on display in the Jefferson Mausoleum starting Thursday, December 11, 2025, through December 31, 2026, at 401 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. The public is invited and encouraged to view the bell. Mausoleum hours of operation are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday thru Saturday and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. Please be mindful and respectful of funeral services and those visiting a loved one at the cemetery when visiting.

Celebrating Memorial Day is a time honored tradition at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery & Funeral Home. Join us on Monday, May 25, 2026, for our annual Memorial Day Ceremony in Pleasant Hills, Pittsburgh, PA. The annual program is free and open to the public. Memorial Day Weekend Activities 2026: We will hold flower bouquet sales starting Friday, May 22 through Monday, May 25 (while supplies last) at the Cemetery Administration building. Our staff will also be available all weekend to assist the public with finding loved ones, handing out flags, on-demand service requests and to answer any questions you may have. All donations will support of the Friends of the Pittsburgh Fisher House. We'll have coffee trucks on-site! Saturday – Brews Traveler from 11-2 PM and Monday, May 25 – Roaming Bean from 10-1 PM. Memorial Day Event Details: Medal of Honor Recipient Ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Mall Ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m. in the Veteran Section - Garden of Oak Knoll Invocation and taps Music by the Thomas Jefferson High School Choir Guest speakers Representative Andrew Kuzma Veteran Tom Beaver, United States Air Force Fisher House Board Member Dayna Brown Animal Friends for Vets Chair Bob Fragasso Special Veteran’s Recognition Every veteran served by our cemetery or funeral home over the past 12 months will be recognized during the ceremony. Standard Information: To our veteran families, the cemetery is unable to request flag standards ourselves on behalf of the veterans we honor on our grounds. The standards we have available are those collected after each prior year's event. Growing through Grief - A Peer Support Group Have you experienced the death of a loved one? Looking for a way to talk through your feelings? No matter when your loss occurred, we are here to help you navigate through your grief and find healing through support. Join the Pittsburgh Grief Support Group every month. Jefferson Memorial Cemetery & Funeral Home is hosting its 14th Annual Car Show on Sunday, August 9, 2026. Join us as we celebrate life in a unique way! All makes, models and years are welcome plus professional vehicles like ambulances, flower cars and hearses. Event Details: Entry and parking are free to all $15 registration fee to enter your car for judging Registration 11-1 PM Event concludes at 3 PM Dash plaques and keychains will be given to all participants (while supplies last) Trophies awarded to the winners of each category Arrival Instructions: 📢Currently, the main Cemetery entrance gate is temporarily closed due to lane shifts on Curry Hollow Road. We invite you to join us for a memorial walk and lantern lighting ceremony in honor of pregnancy and infant loss awareness on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 5-7:30 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Join us to support friends and family members who have experienced a loss for an evening of remembrance as we honor those who were carried for a moment and loved for a lifetime. We invite you to bring your family and friends to light up our memorial pond with lanterns filled with messages of love. Guests will enjoy fall crafts and refreshments leading up to the memorial walk which will begin at 6:30. All donations will directly benefit The Still Remembered Project. Please rsvp here.
