Bills Green Apple work family. We are already missing you brother!
I cannot believe that we have a world without Bill. I met him after I met Danny Mantia; he was one of Danny's best friends; like a brother to him. He was Best Man at our wedding. I have many, many memories of laughter, good food and great times. He supported me at Danny's bedside.
He will be missed dearly. And for those of you who knew Danny; Bill and he were a force to be reckoned with! I can only imagine the trouble they are plotting and getting into now that they are together! Sending my love to his whole family and all his friends.
Working with Bill the last 30 years was great. He helped build the company. His work on colleges got us written up in national media. He was a lot of fun to have around. Always got the job done. His recent work on our Light of Life and Foodbank Auctions helped to make them a success.
Too many things to remember and they're all good!
Thanks Bill - Great Job!
It’s hard to think of a world without Bill. His strength, booming voice, kindness, keen intellect, quick wit, and contagious laughter were uplifting and anchoring. He was a friend to all, a good man with a minister’s heart — Warren and Jean’s son, Warren being a devout Lutheran minister, and Jean, his ever-faithful and loving wife. Bill sought God every day in thought, prayer, and Bible reading, Bill's Bible present even at the end.
Although it’s hard to think of a world without Bill, it’s wonderful to think of his glorious return to the Father in Heaven!
God bless you, friend of our hearts. We know that He is indeed blessing you, mightily!
The LaPointe Family
Deepest sympathies at this sad time and may faith, family, and friends comfort you.
I lived on Mercer Avenue just down from the Lutheran Church in Homestead Park. Shortly after Bill moved to Homestead Park we became friends. Many days we played wiffle ball, kick ball, and football in the alley behind the church before it was paved. We were good friends in Park Elementary, Woodlawn Jr. High, and Munhall High. Bill was aways a good friend and a great classmate.

Bill had a lot of accomplishments in his lifetime.
He was a 1975 graduate of Thiel College, attending the same school as his father. He was a business administration major who also ran cross country and track, captained the tennis team and was part of the '72 Presidents Conference Championship.
Bill worked diligently to develop new relationships for Thiel during his career at Green Apple Barter. His efforts aided in student growth and even garnered national news articles.
in 2017, Thiel recognized Bill as a game day honoree at a home football game. This was truly a culminating moment for Bill, highlighting his life long relationship with the college.
Rest easy

Bill was a beloved part of the Green Apple Barter family. You could always count on him for a great story and a good laugh. I had the privilege of working with him on many special projects that wouldn’t have been what they are today without him. He always had a special place in his heart for working with nonprofits, and every nonprofit he worked with was lucky to have him working for them. I will miss Bill and my dad playfully bickering about sales, Thiel College, or even just the news! Thank you, Bill, for being a great coworker and friend! <3
