William Daniel Morris' Obituary
William D. “Dan” Morris, 74, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023. Dan was born in Pittsburgh on April 28, 1949, the son to the late William and Patricia (Phillips) Morris.
He grew up in the South Hills where he attended local schools in Brentwood and Baldwin. Dan proudly served our country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War where he earned the rank of HNE3. Following his honorable discharge from the United States Navy, he enjoyed a career at Shadyside Hospital where he received his stationary engineer designation.
In his free time, Dan enjoyed staying active, whether it be bicycling or running. He was a dedicated volunteer at Horses with Hope where he was always there to lend a helping hand. As quite the handyman, Dan could often be found fixing things up. He took great pride in his volunteer work, always making sure everything on the farm was pristine and making many wonderful friendships along the way. He also enjoyed the time spent with his rescue cat, Rocky.
Dan is survived by his brothers, Ron (Linda) Morris and Terry (Eric) Morris; as well as his niece, Andrea (Kyle) Bennett. He was predeceased by his parents.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pittsburgh PA 15236.
