Richard (Rich) L. Stetar's Obituary
Richard (Rich) L. Stetar, 83, of South Park passed away on March 21, 2025 from dementia. Rich is the son of the late Anthony (Tony) and Ann (Kaelin) Stetar of Pleasant Hills. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Karen (Smith). Rich is also survived by his children Krissy (George) DeShetler of Jefferson Hills, PA; Mike (Beth) Stetar of Lawrenceburg, TN; Leigh (David) Dennick of Eighty-Four, PA; Lynn (Bob) Littleton of Vero Beach, FL; and a step-son Mike (Cindy) Kulikowski of Huntsville, AL. Rich's love will carry on through his 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He will also be greatly missed by his siblings Tom Stetar of South Park, PA and Gin (Don) Behm of Verona, PA as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
After graduating from high school, Rich enlisted in the United States Navy where he served on the USS Cromwell as a sonar operator during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Rich's drive and skill with technology led him to pursue a career as a computer programmer. He spent several years learning about computers as they became mainstream fixtures and eventually he created a computer software system that is still in use in the healthcare industry today.
Rich was a car enthusiast having built and owned several classic and custom cars. While a few of his cars won awards at various shows, the most important thing was the enjoyment he had tinkering with them over the years.
Whether sitting by his backyard pool or soaking in the sun in the Bahamas, Rich's smile shined the brightest when he was spending time with family and friends.
Rich's family would like to extend their gratitude to the team at UPMC Mercy and Amedisys Hospice for their care and compassion over the last two weeks.
Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 6:00-8:00 PM and Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 1:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
