Raymond William Weaver III's Obituary
Raymond "Bill" Weaver III, 72, of Whitehall, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 1, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 1, 1950, in West Reading, the loving son of the late Raymond and Jeanne (Moyer) Weaver, Jr. Bill grew up in Wyomissing where he attended local schools. In 1973, he graduated from Drexel University with his bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering and began his career at US Steel. Bill went on to further his education at Temple University School of Pharmacy. He owned and operated a Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy in Greenfield for almost 20 years.
Bill was a former Scout Master for BSA Troop 210 and a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow. He enjoyed fly fishing and boating with his family on the Chesapeake Bay during his younger years. Along with his family, Bill enjoyed many trips to Wildwood, NJ, where they made wonderful memories together. In his free time, Bill enjoyed getting lost in Agatha Christie mystery books, sharing his stories, and getting a good laugh out of everyone with his dad jokes. Bill was a devoted husband and took pride in being a father. The time he spent with his family meant the world to him. He enjoyed playing video games, cooking, watching a good film, and TV shows. Bill was a kindhearted and patient person with a wonderful sense of humor. His calm and positive nature allowed him to help many and leave a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Jane (Hurl) Weaver; his children, Meredith Weaver, Grant (Natalie) Weaver and Jillian Weaver; his former wife, Bonnie Griffith; his brother, Timothy (Mary Ann) Weaver; nephews, Sean (Tiffany) Weaver and Sam Weaver; and his faithful four-legged companion, Banjo.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 6-8 pm and Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 2-4 and 6- 8 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 12:00 pm. Burial will be held privately.
