Patrick Gregory Colbert's Obituary
Patrick Gregory Colbert, age 48, of Pittsburgh, passed away unexpectedly on March 16, 2026.
Born in Meadville, Patrick was the son of the late Philip and Jacqueline Colbert.
Patrick was a graduate of IUP. He was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Buffalo Bills, Patrick found great happiness in cheering on his teams. Patrick was proudly a "Disney adult," and some of his most cherished memories were created there with Michelle. They got engaged there, honeymooned there, and returned so often they eventually lost count. Those trips were more than vacations; they were traditions filled with joy, laughter, and love.
Music was another constant in Patrick's life. He had an eclectic and timeless taste, enjoying artists like The Beatles, Queen, Kiss, Tom Petty, Billy Joel, and Taylor Swift. Whether listening quietly or enjoying concerts, music was one of the many ways Patrick connected with the world around him.
He was an avid Pokémon Go player and loved any opportunity to be outdoors, especially hiking and taking long walks. When he wasn't outside, he enjoyed watching the Simpsons, particularly the early seasons. Patrick treasured his weekly Star Trek sessions with friends. Friendship meant everything to Patrick, and he could find a friend in any crowd.
His thoughtfulness showed in the little things. His habit of picking up gifts year-round whenever something reminded him of someone he cared about. He took joy in making others feel seen and appreciated. Patrick was a baker who proudly participated in the Crawford County Fair, earning multiple ribbons for his exceptional cookies and sharing his creations with those he loved.
Patrick leaves behind his wife, Michelle (Potter) Colbert; his sister and her family, Tracy & Robert Dowler and their children, Alex and Sophia; aunt and uncle, Cheryle and Tony Stellato; his brother-in law and his family, Mike & Beth Potter and their children, Ben and Megan; his parents-in-law, Randy & Mary Jo Potter; special fur babies, Master Gracey and Maxwell Edison "Silver Hammer"; as well as countless friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ethan Colbert.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, March 21st from 5-8 P.M. and Sunday, March 22nd from 1-3 P.M. at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc. 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
A funeral service will follow visitation on Sunday, March 22nd at 3 P.M. in the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, Patrick's family requests that donations be made to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank at pittsburghfoodbank.org
Patrick's life was filled with laughter, love, and meaningful connections. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. In his honor, may we raise a glass, share a smile, and remember how much he loved a good "cheers" with the people he held dear.
