I first met Patrick when he was still a young boy, perhaps about 8 years old. I had recently started dating his Aunt Cheryle at the time and he was a big part of her life, so he became part of mine. I remember his sharp mind as he asked me questions, particularly regarding the workings of the stock market. I wondered, at that time, how a young child knew enough to inquire about things like put options and call options. Over time, I realized he was intellectually gifted, and curious about the world. When I married , we became family, but he was also a friend. He did, as a teenager , lead his sister astray once in Niagara Falls. It was nothing nefarious, but it was on Cheryle's and my watch, so I never let him live it down. That was a fun trip! As adults, we experienced Las Vegas, Disneyworld, Kennywood, and the hiking trails around Pittsburgh with Patrick, among many other experiences. He and Michelle built lives around the things they loved and that mattered . I will continue to remember those things as well as Patrick's strong moral compass. I'll miss you, Patrick! May you rest peacefully.
