Patricia Joy Kopperman's Obituary
With profound sadness and endless love, the family of Robert, Linda, and Gary Kopperman announce the peaceful passing of Patricia Joy Kopperman on September 19, 2025, at the age of 89. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she left this world surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, on August 21, 1936, to the late Marguerite and Charles Kline, Patricia lived a life rooted in kindness, faith, and family. After graduating from St. Elizabeth Seton, she dedicated herself to creating a warm and welcoming home, where love and laughter always flourished.
In 1956, she married her lifelong love, the late Morton ("Mort") Kopperman. Their 65-year marriage was a shining example of commitment and devotion. Together, they created a family that became Patricia's greatest joy. She was the heart of her household - famous for her warm hugs, delicious matzo ball soup, and comforting wisdom.
Patricia is survived by her children Robert and Gary Kopperman, and daughter Linda Petersen; her daughters-in-law Michelle Kopperman and Tina DeHappart; her grandchildren Teddy IV (Jordan) and Garrett Petersen, Mark (Abby) and Scott (Casey) Kopperman, and Gwendlyn Kopperman; and her precious great-grandchildren Anna Rose and Summer Lynn Kopperman, and Theodore Hans Petersen V. She also leaves behind many dear friends who were touched by her warmth and generosity. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Mort, son John Kopperman, daughter-in-law Rowena, and her siblings Charles Kline and Carol Hartland.
She will be remembered for her love of playing cards and board games, tending her orchids, reading, shopping, and always lending a helping hand. Her generous spirit and infectious laughter filled every room she entered. Patricia's door was always open, and she found her greatest happiness in bringing family together and creating memories that will be treasured forever.
A celebration of Patricia's life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Rd. Pittsburgh PA 15236. A blessing service will take place at 4:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Diabetes Foundation, cancer research organizations, or any military support organization.
Patricia's presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever remain a guiding light to her family. We take comfort in knowing she is at peace, reunited with those she loved.
