Mark W. Richey's Obituary
Family and friends mourn the passing of Mark Richey on Thursday, July 20, 2023. Mark at 58-years old had a short battle with lung cancer.
Mark is survived by his daughters: Hannah (Richey) Willis and spouse Jordan, Haley Richey, and Sofia Mae Richey; his parents: Judith A. (McClory) Richey and the late Deane E. Richey; sisters, Deana (Rick) Yates, Darlene (Steve) Carlin, and Heidi (Mike) Bonacci; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, family, and dear friends.
Mark graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1986 and worked as an EP (Electrophysiology) Professional for over 30-years. He resided in Austin Texas and spent many years with friends and family in Pittsburgh PA and Cary NC.
Mark was an avid golfer, whether he was playing or watching a tournament. An amateur sommelier to all of his friends and family, he knew more about wine than most. He was a passionate UNC Tarheel fan and a skilled grill master with the Blue Heaven Tailgaters. He was always a charismatic friend, colleague, and family member who filled any room he walked into with laughter.
A graveside memorial service will take place at 11 am on Monday, September 4, 2023 at Jefferson Memorial Park, 401 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, 15236. Procession will gather at the main cemetery office.
