Mark Andrew Cifrulak's Obituary
Mark Andrew Cifrulak, age 64, of Jefferson Hills, formerly of McKees Rocks, passed away suddenly, surrounded by his loving family, on October 8, 2020.
Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy (Bjalobok) Cifrulak; two daughters, Lisa (Matthew) Edwards and Stacie (Justin) Paronish; mother, Margaret Cifrulak; two brothers, Burt (Nanine) Cifrulak and Robert (Michelle) Cifrulak; Aunt Helen (Lester) Best; two brothers in-law, Frank (Barb) Bjalobok Jr. and Michael (Susie) Bjalobok; sister in-law, Betsy (Gary) Van Sickle; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nicholas Cifrulak.
Mark married his high school sweetheart, Nancy, in 1981. They just celebrated their 39th anniversary. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1978, with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a proud member of the Pitt Marching Band and was selected for Herald Trumpet. After college, he was a member of the Ohio Valley Community Band. Mark took pleasure in sharing his love of music with his two daughters, from high school musicals, Ohio Valley Community Band, Kennywood, and Busch Gardens.
Mark was proudly employed for 40 years at Bettis Atomic Power Labs as a Supervisor Engineer. He just recently retired in March 2020. There is no home renovation that Mark would not gladly tackle, including the complete renovation of the Holy Ghost Church rectory kitchen. He was a "jack of all trades".
Mark was a devout Byzantine Catholic and a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Church in McKees Rocks. He enjoyed the ethnic traditions of Easter and Christmas.
Above all, Mark loved to spend time with his cherished family. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th from 5 PM to 8 PM at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, 15236. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 10th at 11 AM at the St. John the Baptist Byzantine Cathedral, 210 Greentree Rd., Munhall, 15120.
