Karen was the heart and soul of the CS department at CMU - she treated us all like family. These ladies exhibited the meaning of hard work, friendship and true kindness to everyone they encountered. Karen will be deeply missed by me and many - Deb Cavlovich

Karen was the heart and soul of Carnegie Mellon's CS Department. As someone who worked with Karen for the 20+ years of Karen's 27, she always had the answer for me. I spent my time in Human Resources (Benefits) and came to count on Karen for her continued support of matters related to CS. I will truly miss her. Christine Pohuly

Karen was a great cousin to me and I have A lot of memories growing up with her and all the fun we had. She was a special person to many and will be missed. But now Karen you can Rest In Peace with your mom dad Jack and especially your special daughter Sherri. You are all back together again and enjoy your life in heaven.
