I am truly saddened to learn of John's passing. I knew John when I was a youngster growing up in Cheektowaga, New York in the early 1970's. John had worked for the Town recreation center. I played hockey there and knew John as he was a rink guard and worked in the offices at the center. He was just a great guy and a kind man. I had broken my ankle at the rink one day and John had just arrived at the rink, saw what had happened and quickly drove me home in his little blue TR7 sports car. I remembered John for this kind gesture for many years, and in the mid 1980's I located John and called him to thank him for what he did to help me that day. I never forgot his kindness and never will. My thoughts and prayers for his family as they continue to heal from this loss. Kind Regards, Bruce Hopcus Clermont, Florida
