James R. “Jim” Johnson, age 72, of Bethel Park, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. Jim was born in Pittsburgh on December 6, 1951, the son of the late Theodore and Margaret (Born) J Read Obituary
My deepest sympathy goes out to his wife and family. Jim was a Union brother and friend. Not only was Jim an excellent sheet metal worker, he was an excellent teacher and communicator. Jim taught night school for our apprenticeship program and as a fellow instructor, that was when I first met Jim. As others have said, he was always someone you could go to for help, advice or a good laugh. His sense of humor and love of life and family was always there. He will be greatly missed.
Words simply cannot express the sorrow and condolences, that I and my family feel for my sister and her family for their loss. Jim was always the solution to a problem and never part of it. He made time for anyone who needed it whether they asked or not. He was an intelligent and skilled man that you could use as a sounding board when you were considering taking on a project. He taught me a great many things in my youth and always encouraged me to learn different things if the opportunity presented itself. While in the Boy Scouts,our troop lost our scout master. Knowing this,jim stepped up and took it upon himself with the help of another friend and ran the troop. Jim was very skilled and had a vast knowledge of many things.to the point that you could present almost any subject or have a conversation about anything and he could participate without skipping a beat.
He truly was a remarkable man! Anyone who knew him will have the same type of experiences and stories just like mine. There are just too many things to list that he had done for me and our whole family. He was a man of honor and loyalty who never asked for anything in return when helping someone. The world he was part of is now at an irreplaceable loss with his passing. So very very sorry
I met Jim in 2011 when I first joined the CSC Pistol Team. The help and advice he has given me ever since has been invaluable and most appreciated. Jim was always willing and patient in getting things done for the team, not to mention sharing that wonderful sense of humor. There are not enough words to express just how much he will be missed. My deepest sympathies to Diane and his entire family.

Uncle Jim was a great man. He was always kind & generous with his assistance. It was at his sports club, that I took my hunter's safety course at 12, so that I could become a lifelong hunter & Outdoorsman. As a child, Uncle Jim taught me how to carve some of my first proper wood cuts. My heartfelt condolences & prayers go out to his family. He was a Gentleman, in a World where Gentlemen are increasingly rare. He will be missed.
