Jerome F Teitz's Obituary
Jerome "Jerry" Teitz, age 87, from Baldwin, passed away on May 23, 2025. Born and raised in Beechview, Jerry was the youngest of four. Jerry was an avid bowler and golfer who often reminded everyone "it never rains on the golf course." He had endless hilarious, outrageous, and wonderful stories of his annual golf trips to Myrtle Beach and Conneaut Lake with his son and golf buddies. He had a great sense of humor and was always good for a Dad joke. He worked for Equitable Gas of Pittsburgh, retiring after 40 years as a proud union member; he instilled the ideas of hard work and union values in his family. A longtime Steelers season ticket holder, he adored his Pittsburgh sports teams and supported them from Forbes Field to PNC Park.
Jerry was married to the Love of his life, Mary Bee, for 65 years. Together in Brentwood, they raised three wonderful children: Kathleen Hornyak (Bob), Thomas (Claire), and Amy Bower (Jim). He adored his six grandchildren, Evan Hornyak (Shannon), Emily Hornyak, Caitlin Bower, Michael Bower, TJ Teitz, and Sean Teitz, as well as his great-granddaughter, Ryliegh. Jerry is also survived by so many loving nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of the Teitz siblings, proceeded in death by John, Claire Milsovic, and Bill. Family was everything to him, and everyone knew it!
Memorial Visitation will be held Saturday, May 31st, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Rd, Pittsburgh, PA, 15236, followed by a memorial service in the funeral home's chapel at 12:00 pm.
