Jeffrey A. George's Obituary
Jeffrey A. George, 75, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025.
A proud graduate of Clairton High School, Jeffrey continued his education at Gannon University and Mercyhurst University, ultimately earning a Bachelor's Degree in Art. His passion for creativity extended beyond academics; he also brought joy to others through his involvement in numerous community activities. He taught Sunday school at his church and was an active member of the Fellowship of St. John the Divine.
Jeffrey worked as a dispatcher for the Water/Sewer Authority and was a dedicated member of AFSCME Local 2719. He had a zest for life that included being part of a dance troop, and he had a memorable moment in 1974 when he had the rare privilege of kissing actress Bette Davis on the hand at Heinz Hall.
A courageous spirit, Jeffrey received a liver transplant on October 21, 1990, which only deepened his appreciation for life. He had a profound love for music and a special bond with his granddogs, both of which brought him immense joy throughout his years.
Jeffrey is survived by his partner of 40 years Joseph Tumsis; children Damian (Hayah) George and Alicia George; grandchildren Noura, Luca, and Fayrouz George; siblings Brenda Taddeo and Charles (James) George, Jr.
Jeffrey is preceded in death by his parents Charles Sr. and Fritzie George.
