I came to know Jim through our Aunt Carole. He was a great addition to our family and we were honored to spend time with him. I greatly appreciate and admire his service to this country and his dedication to honoring our veterans. He and I had many conversations about the military and politics (we respected each other's points of view). He took me on a tour of the Yankee Air museum which was very special since my dad was in the Air Force during the Korean War and I spent a great deal of my early career working for and with Vietnam Veterans. I greatly enjoyed Jim's company. He and Carole rescued me from being stranded at Detroit Metro in the middle of a snow and ice storm. The next day Jim insisted on treating me to a breakfast at a diner where he ordered Captain Crunch french toast because he said he thought I would really enjoy it. It was amazing and was just so much fun. He was a remarkable man. The world was better with him in it. Rest in Peace Jim. It was an honor to know you.
