I am truly sadden to have learned today of Howard's passing. I started ushering with him and he was always a pleasure to be around. Always kind hearted, helping others and putting a smile on others faces. He will be missed and always remembered. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and neighbors of Howard and Rita.
I'm also a volunteer at the hospital where him and Rita volunteered. They were the SWEETEST people and always had something nice to say to everyone. They were some of the first people to make me feel truly welcomed there, despite my young age in comparison to the rest of the volunteers. You'll be dearly missed, rest easy. I think I probably speak for all of the neighbors when I say that the street will not be the same without these two. Such great neighbors. Always good for a chat on the street or out at Shop N Save. From little presents for my kids to buying something to support a fundraiser. We are truly sad for your family for having lost them both so close together.
