Henry Hindman's Obituary
Henry “Hank” Hindman, 80, of South Park, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 27, 2023. Henry was born on November 23, 1942, in Pittsburgh, the loving son to the late James and Mary (Levandosky) Hindman. He grew up in Gill Hall, PA, where he attended local schools and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School.
Hank resided in Carrick, PA, for many years alongside his wife of 57 years, Carol, where they made their home and raised their family. He enjoyed a long career as a mechanic, eventually retiring from Bell Telephone.
Hank was known to be everybody’s handyman who was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone who needed it. He could often be found tinkering around with cars and fixing things. He was a member of the local American Legion and VFW. Hank’s greatest joy in life was the time spent with his beloved family, especially his grandchildren.
Hank was a very simple and caring man with a great sense of humor. He was a kind and loving husband and father, and a wonderful Pappy to his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
Hank is survived by his beloved wife, Carol (Berwick) Hindman; his children, Carol (Greg) Pohodich, Sharon (Mike) Assad, Ron (Jenn) Hindman, and Pam (Nick) Perich; his nine grandchildren, whom he adored, Gregory Pohodich, Brianna (Ian) Suppo, Josh Pohodich, Ryan, Kelsy, and Cody Assad, Savanna Hindman, and Ashley and Nicholas Perich; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Elsie Paulik, Thelma Remo, Mary “Annie” Walbert, Stanley Hindman, and James Hindman.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for a memorial visitation on Friday, June 30, 2023 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
