Ernest F Kasten, Jr.'s Obituary
Ernest F. Kasten, Jr. 71, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025.
Ernie was born in Pittsburgh's Allentown neighborhood. When he was five, the family moved to Robinson Township. After graduating from Montour High School, Ernie went on to earn a nursing degree and dedicated his entire career to caring for others at Kane Hospital.
Ernie was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed attending Steelers training camp in his younger years.
He was a proud uncle to his nieces Sonja, Shannon, and Kayla; brother to Terry Schaner and Dawn Riedel; and the quiet cousin to the Kasten/Cerminara/Wilhelm families.
Since 2021, Ernie made his home at Provincial Bethel Park, where he was proudly crowned the "Bingo King" of 2024-a title he wore with joy and humor.
Ernie was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ernest and Edna Mae, and his dear companion Jane.
He was also a dedicated "pawrent" to many cats over the years, each one a lucky recipient of his love and dedication.
To honor Ernie's memory and his lifelong affection for cats, donations may be made to the Homeless Cat Management Team (HCMT):
