Emery J. Lang's Obituary
Emery Lang, age 78, of Homestead, PA, passed away on June 8, 2026.
Born in Pittsburgh to parents John and Mildred Lang, Emery's Catholic upbringing led him to attended Holy Cross Preparatory Seminary in Dunkirk, New York. After graduating he would pursue a drafting career, learning the craft as an apprentice for Mesta Machine Company. He would also go on to serve his country in the Air Force Reserves.
A quiet and reserved person, Emery had a love of the simple things in life. He enjoyed a game of chess or pinochle or playing a round of golf. He was a dedicated Steeler's fan and season ticket holder. Mostly he just enjoyed having a quiet moment to himself or with family. Often he could be found out on the nearest porch or patio with a cup of coffee and a cigarette.
Emery was a loving father to Brian (Barbara), Jennifer, and Kristen (Chris); brother to Johnny (Joyce). Marcie (Leo), Charles (Lynda). He will be missed by his many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Mildred Lang; and siblings Geri Jacobs and Bill Lang.
Visitaion will be held from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Friday June 12 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Rd. Pittsburgh PA 15236. A funeral service will be held at 12:30pm on Saturday June 13 in the Funeral Home Chapel.
The family requests that donations be made to Valley Oaks Care Center in gratitude for their care and compassion.
