One of my best memories of Dougie was when at 11 or 12 years old he taught me how to ride a motorcycle. He spent hours with me trying to learn how to pull out in 1st gear on his YZ 80 without dumping both of us off the back of the bike. This had to be around 1981 or 1982, once I got the hang of it we spent many days after school riding Highland Woods, The Power Plant and racing up and down the train tracks. I have Dougie to thank for my love of motorcycles and trail riding. Sadly it has been many years since we’ve seen each other, I will forever be grateful. Jason Kanoza
