Happy birthday in Heaven, Dad ❤️! Miss you and love you so much!!
We just recently learned of Don's passing from a post on the condo website.
Don, was a great neighbor. We met him, as well as Audrey, when we first came to look at condos at Glenabby, in Columbus. We eventually moved in across from them. Sometimes he could be perceived as a little \"gruff\" on the outside, but we quickly learned he was a kind, generous and helpful neighbor. He accomplished many things while he was on the condo board, making it a nicer place to live.
My wife and I were both saddened when we learned that they were moving to Pennsylvania and even more so when we learned of his passing. We offer our sincerest condolences to Audrey and Don's family.
Good morning! What a great life!
Rumor is, dad left us because he missed Big Mike too much so he wanted to go see him… And Tommy Carr too. And let’s not forget about “The Gipper” and “The Duke” too!
I am who I am because of my father.
Every day, the world loses people like Dad
just when the world needs more people like Dad.
Tough, loving and fair. That’s how I would describe him- a man of strong character and values, but also a soft side to always help.
Self made man… Born on the heels of the great depression, didn’t have much growing up, served his country, married a lovely caring woman, took an entry level type job and worked his way up to senior vice president. All while supporting a wife and four children.
We never did without.
4 kids……. I never realized how hard it was to be a dad and parent until I became one. And that’s only with two kids. Three daughters and a rambunctious son… I’m sorry, Dad. 😀
For me, there were two Don Kraemer’s… Before and after his grandchildren.
Growing up I saw him as a no nonsense guy… Somebody that didn’t “get it”
A parent of “No”. …. Sound familiar kids? 😀
When the grandkids started popping up I started to see a different side of him- happy, relaxed, good natured. I was almost jealous of the way he treated them. But it was wonderful to see.
My sisters and I didn’t get grandpa school and him dressing up like Santa clause…..all we remember is getting grounded to our
rooms. …. What the heck?😀
He was a great grandfather, a great dad, and a great husband for my mom.
That’s brings up Mom- over 66 years w/ dad…im sorry mom….. 😀
There was a good balance… For every booming voice of Dad… There was a soft side of you always caring for us. I just want to say mom don’t worry we’re gonna take care of You in these years to come . As my kids, your grandchildren Nash and Jessa would say
“ we got you”
Dad had cancer for over 10 years….everything he put his body through just to keep fighting - up until his last breath he was the toughest bravest guy that I’ll ever know.
A lot of people have said to me over the years… “You’re just like your father.”
Well thank you…..
To me that means I’m doing the right things -
Dad didn’t shy away from responsibility,
Dad was determined to be better every day,
Dad never threw his hands up and said im going to quit
Dad outworked people to get ahead,
Dad put his family first
And
Dad wanted the best for his wife
If we all here can follow his standard in his memory - he will live forever
Thank you
Dear, Don:
Regret not inquiring earlier about visiting. Thank you for your many kindnesses taking me to surgery and follow-up Dr. appointments - helping in other ways.
I'll be there for Audrey; therefore, rest peacefully.
You are remembered fondly by those whose lives you positively impacted.
Farewell too soon.
