On June 2nd, I lost my sister in law, Cathy. More than family, she was a dear friend and an amazing inspiration. For a great deal of her life, she fought various cancers with a grace and resilience rarely seen. Repeatedly, miraculously and inexplicably, Cathy beat back cancer's grasp so many times. She never quit. She loved to play Scrabble with Carl and was famous for cheating, inventing new words with each game. We often had to check the dictionary because many of her entries contained no vowels! She was hilariously funny with a quick wit and sassy comeback and an absolute hoot to be with. Carl and I spent many weekends in Tionesta at Troy and Cathy's beloved cabin in the woods where we would sit around the campfire crafting fine art out of champagne bottles and laughing deep into the night. She adored Troy and he, her. In their 37 years, they were never apart and were a sweet testimony to love. She loved spending time with family and was the perfect sister to her two brothers. When the three of them were together, you knew it would be epic. Cathy, I will miss you.
