Carol A. Hostert's Obituary
Carol A. Hostert, age 93, of Baldwin, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Monday, July 22, 2024. Carol was born on March 9, 1931, in Chicago, IL, the second of five sisters.
Carol was the loving mother to four children, two sons-in-law, and the grandmother of four grandsons and two great-granddaughters, whom she adored. She is also survived by one sister, Marilyn and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Richard J. “Dick” Hostert.
Carol's interests were varied including sewing, baking, and gardening. She had quite the sweet tooth, especially enjoying chocolate, so her homemade treats were always enjoyed by family and friends alike. An avid lover of Christmas, Carol’s collection of Santa’s was a testament to her adoration of the holiday spirit, each one carefully chosen and displayed with pride. Many fond memories were made through trips with her sisters as well as traveling with her husband and trips to various casinos.
She had a wonderful sense of style and was always put together with a sparkle in her outfit and jewelry to match. An excellent host, Carol's happy hours were known for the sense of welcome she extended to all. Her home was a hub of happiness, where laughter flowed as freely as the drinks, and every guest left feeling like family. Raise a glass to Carol!
Services and burial will be held privately.
