Barbara L. Laux's Obituary
Barbara L. Laux (Lauritzen), 79, passed away in her home surrounded by family on July 3, 2020. Beloved wife of Darrell J. Laux, Sr., they were married for 61 years. Barbara is also survived by five children; Darrell J. Laux, Jr. (Sheila), John P. Laux (Stacey), Deborah L. Eldridge (Scott), Jacqueline A. Laux and Dawn M. Michalski (Michael).
She was a special grandmother to Krista Laux (Mark Mihalek), Brianna Slowik, Derek Michalski (Heidi), John M. Laux, Jacob Michalski, Lauritzen Slowik, Caroline Laux, Savannah Laux, Shane Eldridge, Victoria Eldridge and Devin Laux. Barbara was blessed with one great grandson, Caison John Michalski. Barbara is also survived by brothers Thomas Lauritzen (Donna) and Richard Lauritzen (Carol). Barb was preceded in death by her parents, John H. Lauritzen and Elizabeth E. (Holmes, Lauritzen, King) Swain, and brothers Jack Lauritzen (Doris) and Robert King (Anne).
Barbara and Darrell loved camping and shared this love with their children while raising them. They traveled after retirement visiting all states of the continental United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. They enjoyed adventure and often traveled abroad or took a cruise with their daughter Jacqueline. Barbara was an avid reader, accomplished sewer, movie lover and kept her mind sharp with puzzles. She will be sorely missed by all who love her.
