Alfred was more than a great boss when we ushered for him at the Playhouse. He was a dear and loving friend. He was always kind and courtious with us and always treated us with respect as he did with everybody. He will be sorely missed by us and will forever be in our hearts. Roxanne Dillie & Steve Sortino
Alfred was tremendously kind to me in my time at Point Park. He took the time to explain everything he did, every technique, even though I was just a work study. All the lessons he taught me I now teach my students. The largest is kindness and patience are their own rewards.
I did many shows with Alfred as the set designer....his work was just wonderful and I always enjoyed meeting with him....his joyous, generous and engaging personality was so infectious.....he was just a wonderful human being and will be greatly missed. Godspeed .
I met Alfred at Point Park, he was one of my Set Design teachers. Wonderful teacher and mentor. He had a wonderful talent and a great sense of humor. I'm glad I got to run into him at the Playhouse a few years ago during Oklahoma! Heaven gained a wonderful Angel. Eternal Rest to you kind sir.
Al designed the set for the very first play I ever directed at South Park Conservatory theater, \"My Cup Runneth Over\". He also designed the playbill and gave me the original art work as a gift, which I still have. You will be remembered my friend.
Al was always kind and gracious to me when I was a student at the Playhouse back in the late 70s. There were so many times he made me laugh and simply appreciate his presence. I am sorry for your loss.
He was one of my favorite Playhouse characters, always flirty, usually silly and Unquestionably talented. He was a fixture of the place. I wish we had kept in touch. Rest in peace Albert ..... Until we meet again .
