CANGAHUALA GOMEZ YOLANDA
Age 92, of Warrendale, on December 24, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Armando Cangahuala; mother of Alberto (Gloria) Cangahuala, David (Mary) Cangahuala and Cristina (Raymond) Hutton; grandmother of Joshua, Aaron (Carolyn) and Brandon (Lyndsay) Hutton, Sebastian and Elena Cangahuala and Vincent Wren; great-grandmother to Lily Yolanda Hutton and Nora Cecilia Hutton.
Yolanda was born in Zapatoca, Colombia, and had a fruitful teaching career in Colombia before coming to the United States as a Spanish teacher in 1962 through the Cordell Hull Program, settling in Pittsburgh. She was devoted to her family, her teaching and the Hispanic community of Pittsburgh. Her lifelong passion was helping others find their true potential and move forward always (“para adelante”). Therefore, please consider making a donation to the Armando D. and Yolanda Cangahuala Endowed Scholarship at Duquesne University, which she established to help future generations expand their linguistic and cultural horizons.
