Wilma E. McIlrath's Obituary
Wilma E. McIlrath, 95, of Pittsburgh, PA passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025. She was born on January 23, 1930 and grew up in the South Side of Pittsburgh.
Wilma graduated from South High School in 1948. Following graduation in 1949, she married the love of her life, David McIlrath, with whom she spent a wonderful 62 years with until his passing in 2012.
Wilma loved to bake, read, color and spend time with her family. She also loved to travel and making trips to her cottage that she and Dave bought in 1974. When he was alive, she greatly enjoyed the times she went out to eat with Dave. Wilma was also a fan of jewelry, from having a ring on every finger, to wearing her favorite necklaces and earrings, she had it all.
To all whose lives she touched, she will be missed. From her infectious smile, warm and kind personality and childlike approach to making those around her feel comfortable. Her presence was always a place where you would feel accepted and safe from judgment at all times.
Wilma is survived by her children William (Toni) McIlrath, Susan ( the late Ronald) Minkus and Kathy (Michael) Jordan; grandchildren Sherry (Alex), Becky (Todd), Jason (Jessi), Christopher, Nickole (Nicholas) and David (Brianna); great-grandchildren Mychael (Morgan), Cody, Aerion, Kaiden, Zavia, Elijah and Lucy; she is also survived by beloved friends and the many that loved and called her Gram.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband David E. McIlrath and her Son-in-Law Ronald Minkus.
Friends and family will be received from 2-4pm on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, PA, 15236.
A Funeral Service will be held at 4pm following visitation in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will be handled by Jefferson Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Wilma's name to a charity of your choice.
