William B. Williams' Obituary
William B. "Bill" Williams, 89, of Elizabeth Township, PA passed away on April 10, 2023.
William is survived by his wife Helga Williams; children Vicki Foungain, Michelle Hlavik, Teri (Gary) Evans, Bill (Cheri) Williams, Angelika Nicholson, Larry Nicholson, Linda Nicholson and Kenneth Nicholson; grandchildren James, Crystal, Anthony, Samantha, Brittany, Brianna, Stephanie (Orie), Jessie (Laura), Trishia, Dennis (Elizabeth) and Ashley (Blake); great-grandchildren TJ, Drakari, Brinlee, Declan, Taylor, Jake, Katie, Logan, Jayden, Cameron and Westin; sister Evelyn (Fred) Miller.
Preceded in death by his parents William and Lillian Williams, son Geoffrey Williams, grandchildren Lia and Tara, and brother Melvin and his wife Janet.
Bill was born in Donora and grew up in Elizabeth. He was a graduate of Elizabeth High School. Upon graduation, Bill served in the US Army. After his military service, he became a tool and die maker for General Motors, where he worked for 46 years. He was also the treasurer and a board member for United Community Federal Credit Union. He also became the assistant fire chief and a lifelong member of the West Mifflin #3 Volunteer Fire Department. Bill was a Free Mason and belonged to the Greater South Hills Lodge No. 684. He also belonged to AARP.
Among his many other achievements, Bill was a high school girls bowling coach and mentor. Along with bowling, he liked golf, the saxophone, coaching baseball and traveling. He was also an avid crossword puzzler. He had an unmatchable sense of humor. He will be truly missed by all that knew him.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, April 13, 2023 and Friday, April 14 from 2 pm - 4 pm and 6 pm - 8 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, 15236. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 15 at 12 noon in the funeral home's chapel.
