William J. Wagner's Obituary
William James Wagner, 81, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Embrace Hospice House of the Grand Strand in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was born on September 22, 1943, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Robert & Elva Muldoon Wagner.
Along with his parents, William is reunited in passing with his brother, Ward Wagner; sister, Jill Wagner; & nephew, Thomas Wagner.
William proudly served our country in the United States Army Reserves. Following his honorable discharge from the military, William went on to work for Bell Atlantic Telephone Company where he retired after a lifetime of dedicated service. In his free time, William relished time spent making memories with family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish William’s memory are his loving wife, Ruth (Milan Kasenic) Wagner of Murrells Inlet, SC; his daughter, Monica Barkey and her husband, Charles of Washington, PA; step-son, Bryan Kasenic (Giselle) of Saugerties, NY; step-daughter, Sara Capone and her husband, Stephen of Salt Lake City, UT; grandchildren, Meghan (Mitch) Coyle, Rylee (Romie) Barkey, Rylee Capone & Aidyn Capone; brothers and sister, Nard, Mark (Sue), Curt and Cheryl Wagner; ex-wife and life-long friend, Rose Wagner; sisters-in-law Sr. Janet Milan, Nancy DeRenzo, and Wini Milan; several nieces and nephews; a large, loving extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.
Bill’s family would like to send special thanks to Magnolia Bridge Assisted Living, Traditions Home Hospice, Embrace Home Hospice, and Embrace Hospice House for taking such good care of him during his final months and days.

A Celebration of William’s life will be held at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576 on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 11 AM. The family will greet friends from 10 AM until the time of service.

A Visitation with family will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236 on Thursday, October 31, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-9 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel.
