My brother is a diamond. He contained so many facets and was the most brilliant person. He only allowed certain facets to be seen by certain people and it makes me feel special to have seen most of them. He was a son, brother, grandson, nephew, husband, father, and friend. He helped raise me, taught me how to read and write, made sure I knew my Bible, and knew the lines to all the movies and the lyrics to all the songs he played. He made sure I read all the books he read when he was done with them, so I was the best read kid in sixth grade. He made sure that the music we listened to was good and it was loud, and he made sure there was never a movie that I'd ever miss. He taught me that when you drive, you drive fast. He was the first person to show up to help, and he made sure that tears were swiftly turned into giggles. He was my rock when I had fear. He was a builder and his mind was super creative. I watched him add to his facets as he turned into a loving husband and proud father. He made sure my daughters were treated as his own and made sure that their childhood was just as special as ours and were forever spoiled. I've watched this diamond sparkle my whole life and I feel so special and lucky to have witnessed and shared in the light of him. He will never be gone because he has left so many parts of himself in the lives of so many.
