William E. Porter , III's Obituary
Porter "Ed"
William E. III
It is with great sadness we share the passing of William E. Porter III "Ed" of Whitehall, PA.
Ed passed away peacefully into eternal life on Friday October 18, 2019. He was 97 years old.
Ed is preceded in death by his beloved wife Ginny, who he passionately cared for many years. Ed is survived by his loving children and their spouses- Bill and Mary Lou Porter, Jeff and Nancy Porter, and Leslie and Ed Henry. Our Dad was blessed with seven adoring grandchildren - Billy, Brad, Erin, Lindsay, Elliott, Evan and Alexa and 13 precious great grandchildren.
A World War II veteran who proudly served in the South Pacific, Ed returned home and spent the majority of his working career with United States Steel.
Upon his retirement, he and Ginny, found great pleasure traveling the world and enjoying new adventures. In our hearts, our Dad will be remembered for many things, but most important would be the warmth of family. He will be deeply missed by all the many lives he lovingly and gently touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial donation be made in Ed's name to the Whitehall Public Library, 100 Borough Drive, Pittsburgh PA 15236
Both visitation and interment will be private.
Please remember our Dad in your prayers.
