William "Bill" Miller's Obituary
William "Bill" Syrus Miller, Jr., age 95, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on October 29, 2020.
William was the beloved father of Linda Rae (the late John Lapkowicz) Miller and Deborah Lee (Thomas ) Kortz. Cherished grandfather of Leslie Kathleen (Henry) Colaizzi, Elizabeth Ozelle (Alan) Frederickson, Matthew William (Chrissy ) Kortz, John Richard (Kate) Walz, and Brittany Lee Helaine (Raymond) RoBear; great-grandfather of Dillon Matthew Kortz, Andrew David Slivka, Ellise Anna Linda Colaizzi, Lydia Eve Walz, Elissa Kaitlin Kortz, Ryan Jacob RoBear, Alexandra Deborah Kortz, Ella Catherine Frederickson, Maia Elizabeth Frederickson, Avery Elizabeth Walz, Ronin James RoBear, Nathan Richard Walz, Rosalina Lee RoBear, and great-great-great grandfather of Jackson Bissett. William is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his adoring wife, Helen in January of 2020; his son, William S. Miller, III; his grandson Dereck Thomas Kortz; his parents, William and Willa (Reynolds) Miller.
Bill worked for Bell Telephone Company for over 40 years. As a veteran, he was proud to have served in the United States Navy during WWII.
Bill and his beloved wife traveled across the US, always coming back to show their pictures to their family. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed needlepoint and building wooden model ships. Playing cards, especially Tripoly, was something that he always looked forward to.
Friends will be received on Sunday, November 1st from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. and Monday, November 2nd from 10 A.M.-12 P.M. at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, 15236. A funeral service will be held November 2nd at 12 P.M. in the Funeral Home Chapel.
