William "Bill" Meeder's Obituary
William "Bill" Meeder, of Baldwin, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, was born on February 19, 1944. He passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, at the age of 81. Bill, known for his kind demeanor and easy-going nature, was a devoted family man who cherished the moments spent with his grandchildren.
Following high school, Bill worked at Merrill Lynch until he was drafted into the United States Army. When he returned from his service, he began a 33-year career as an operator at Duquesne Light Elrama Power Station, from which he eventually retired.
Bill was not only a dedicated family man but also an avid outdoorsman. He found joy in camping, fishing, and hunting. His passion for restoring old cars reflected his hands-on approach and creativity.
Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol Meeder; his children, Cheryl (Robert) Conte and Michael (Diane) Meeder; his cherished grandchildren, Tiffany & Colin Meeder and Carolyn Conte; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Merle Clyde and Anna Marie (Miller) Meeder; as well as his siblings, Doris Van Gelder, Clyde Meeder and Charles Meeder.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, May 10th from 1-3 & 5-7 P.M. at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A funeral service will be held privately.
