William J. McCallister's Obituary
93, of Whitaker, formerly of Homestead, passed away peacefully on the eve of his 94th birthday on June 14, 2018. William is survived by his two daughters, Rosemary (Terry) Pagano and Tina (Gus) Lasser; best friend and brother-in-law, Bill Cush; grandchildren, Ami (Lucas Bark) Ciocco and James Steiner, Jr.; great grandchildren, Jackson, Peighton, Brayden, Alexis, Cameron, and Jayden; as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Rosemarie "Bebe" (Cush) McCallister; parents, Mary Ellen and James McCallister; sisters, Mildred, Violet, Geraldine, Evelyn, and Joy; and brothers, Regis, Charles, Edward, and Eugene. William served in the U.S. Army in World War II and was a double Purple Heart and double Bronze Star recipient. He also received the French Medal of Honor for his contribution in the Liberation of France. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A special thank you to Vitas Hospice for the compassion and excellent care over the last 7 months. We will be forever grateful. Services will be held privately. Interment at Jefferson Memorial Park.
