William F. Longmore's Obituary
William F. “Bill” Longmore, 74, of South Park, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at the VA hospital in Oakland. Bill was born in Pittsburgh on July 31, 1948, the son of the late John and Alberta (Fink) Longmore. He was the loving husband to the late, Jane (Verno) Longmore.
Bill proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his time in the service, he went on to enjoy a career in security at Mellon bank of Pittsburgh.
Bill was a man of simple joys and had a profound appreciation of life’s little pleasures. One could often find him relishing his wife’s delicious cooking with a heartwarming smile. Her meals were not just nourishment but a symbol of the love and care they shared throughout their journey together.
Bill is survived by his brother, Daniel Longmore of Natrona Heights, PA and sister, Rita Kobus of Gardnerville, Nevada, as well as many dear friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bill was predeceased by two brothers, James and John; as well as his furry companion, Shultz.
His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him and his spirit will be carried forth in the stories and memories shared among friends and family.
Services have been entrusted to Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and will be held privately. Bill will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife and soulmate, Jane, who passed peacefully surrounded by his love just three weeks ago.
