William Gardner, 75, of Pittsburgh, passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 2, 2016. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on July 30, 1940, to William and Margaret (Baumiller) Gardner. William is survived by his beloved wife of many happy years, Frances (Schott) Gardner, his sons William (Leslie) and David Gardner and his daughter Gail Niespodzianski; grandsons, Leonard Bilski, Colin Leber, Nicholas Niespodzianski and great-granddaughter, Gemma Bilski. He is also survived by brothers Jim, Bernard, Howard, Dan, and sisters Peg and Rose as well as many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father William A. Bill was an avid golfer with a hole in one, as well as being a proud member of the Local 449 for 52 years. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, 6-8 PM, and Wednesday, 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM, at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, 15236. A Funeral Ceremony will be conducted Thursday at 10:00 am at funeral home chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105), or St. Paul of the Cross Monastery (148 Monastery Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15203).
