William D. Eriksson's Obituary
William "Bill" D. Eriksson, 88, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2024, in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania. He was born on June 5, 1936, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the late Earl W. and Elizabeth Eriksson, and was predeceased by his brother, Earl H. Eriksson.
A graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School, Bill proudly served two years in the U.S. Army. Upon returning to civilian life, he demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit as the owner of the Esso Station in Greentree. His professional journey continued at Pennzoil in West Virginia before dedicating thirty admirable years to Steelshield in Pittsburgh.
Bill's life was marked not only by his professional achievements but also by a dedication to his family. In May of 1960, he married the love of his life, Carole Ann. He is survived by their children: William J. (Mary Ann) Eriksson, Karen A. Eriksson, Robert E. (Maritess) Eriksson, Jean L. (Michel) Danis, David E. Eriksson, and Carole A. (Brian) Hoselton. He was the cherished grandfather of Aaron Spencer, Romar Eriksson, Elijah Eriksson, Victoria Eriksson, Elizabeth Eriksson, William Eriksson, Daniel Danis, Melissa Danis, Max Hoselton, Jack Hoselton, Faith Hoselton and great-grandchildren, William and Freya Eriksson.
An enthusiastic and skillful handyman, Bill found joy in tackling home and yard projects. His personal touch transformed the family home with a beautifully remodeled kitchen, three new bathrooms, and two powder rooms. In his leisure time, he delighted in the tranquility of camping at Chautauqua Lake, navigating boats, and the serenity of fishing.
Bill's life was a testament to the values of dedication, love, and perseverance. A Deacon for over 20 years in God's Church. He leaves behind a legacy of fond memories and a family that will continue to honor his memory through their own lives. His was a life well-lived, and he will be profoundly missed.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, PA, 15236.
A Funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 12pm.
Burial will be handled by Jefferson Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations can be made to The Restored Church of God.
