William Coholan's Obituary
William "Bill" Coholan, 67, of Pittsburgh, PA. passed away on March 14, 2025. Born on April 29, 1957 to Robert and Ingeborg Coholan.
Bill grew up in Colonia, New Jersey. He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1979. He came to Pittsburgh to attend Duquesne University School of Law where he met his wife. During his legal career he engaged in the general practice of law, including some high profile insurance fraud cases.
No matter what he accomplished with his career, the greatest source of pride for him has been his two sons. He loved to coach their sports teams and make them huge omelets. He also had a special place in his heart for the family cats Midnight, Freda, Blitzie and Mini. Bill was a big fan of all the University of Maryland sports teams and was really looking forward to watching the basketball team in this year's NCAA tournament. He also used to like to make trips to the Jersey Shore where he enjoyed crabbing and eating crab cakes.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years Anne Coholan; his dearest sons Sean Coholan and Eric Coholan; siblings Anita (Douglas) Kolb, Robert (Rose) Coholan, Micheal (Lorraine) Coholan, Thomas (Carolyn) Coholan, Maureen (Richard) Richmond and brother-in-law Peter Kozera; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Robert and Ingeborg Coholan and his brother James Coholan.
