Willard D. Werner's Obituary
Willard D. Werner, age 76, of South Park, formerly of Forward Township, peacefully embarked on his next adventure on December 11th, 2020.
Willard is survived by his beloved son, David A. Werner; two sisters, Mary (the late Ted) Opfer and Luella (the late James) Shoemaker; brother, Alvin Werner; many nieces and nephews; and brother in-law, William Raymond (Donna) Leppla.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Bonnie L. Werner; four brothers, Johnny (the late June), Freddy (the late Ruth Ann), Eugene "Herk" (the late Judy), and Wayne Werner; as well as his parents, Anthony and Mary "Bessie" (Wilson) Werner.
Willard was born on January 11th, 1944. Willard proudly served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. He also was a proud member of 47 years of the Local Union #373 where he made many lifelong friends. Willard also was a lifetime member of Forward Township Fire Hall, along with Broughton and Library Volunteer Fire Departments. He enjoyed working on the farm, where he raised his family with his wife Bonnie. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 16th from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM and Thursday, December 17th from 6 PM to 8 PM at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, 15236. A Blessing Service will be held on Friday, December 18th at 12 PM at the Funeral Home's Chapel. Interment to follow at Jefferson Memorial Park.
