Warren F. Bourgeois' Obituary
Warren F. Bourgeois, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on April 23, 2025.
Born in Brooklyn, New York on February 26, 1932, Warren had an unparalleled work ethic and a strong sense of personal responsibility. He graduated from Manhattan College, with honors, in 1953, and also attended the Oak Ridge School of Reactor Technology with the United States Atomic Energy Commission. Warren worked as an engineer for Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory in West Mifflin for 42 years, and also taught at the Naval Reactor School run by Bettis.
Warren was intellectually curious, an avid reader, and passionate about history, travel, and his family. Alongside his loving wife, Eileen--to whom he was married for over 70 years--Warren traveled the world. He especially loved going to the theater in London.
Warren also was a dedicated community service leader in Pleasant Hills, having served on Pleasant Hills Council for 16 years and as Mayor of Pleasant Hills for another 16 years.
Warren is survived by his adoring wife, Eileen Mary (Barrett); six children, Mary Ellen (Bill) Schmidt, Kathleen (Jeff) Beers, Robert (Carolyn) Bourgeois, Nancy (Brian) Geary, Susan Bourgeois, and Eileen (Ray) Hahn; and twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, PA, 15236. Be aware of construction around the funeral home on Curry Hollow Road. Please plan travel accordingly.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12 pm on Monday, April 28, 2025 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Jefferson Memorial Park.
