Walter C. Lostetter's Obituary
A resident of West Mifflin, PA passed peacefully with family by his side Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the age of 95.
Walter was the son of George J. Lostetter and Mary C. (Kraus), loving husband of 71 years and steadfast caregiver of Melva (Krueger) and brother of George J. Lostetter Jr. (Alice) and has many nieces and nephews.
Walter was the amazing father of Dale R. Lostetter (Karen), Dan W. Lostetter, David G. Lostetter (Lynn), Denise L. Raves (David), he was the proud grandfather of Kimberly Lostetter (Ash), Lea Neff (Jeff), Kailey Carlson (Jason), Elizabeth Raves, Corey Lostetter and Matthew Raves. He was especially proud to be the Great-Grandfather to Ellie Carlson, Liam Carlson, and Blake Oliver Neff. We were blessed and proud to have him as our patriarch and will miss him dearly.
Walter was a Sergeant Battery C and is a veteran of The United States Army who served in World War II. After an honorable discharge he pursued a career in the construction industry, working in various management capacities for The Dick Corporation and PJ Dick Incorporated from which he retired. The most famous building on which he was concrete superintendent of construction was the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh PA and was sad to see it demolished.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00 -8:00 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236
A mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday May 25, at 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, 1 Grove Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15236
Interment will be at the Jefferson Memorial Cemetery 401 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh PA 15236.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Amedisys Hospice Care 3835 Northern Pike, Unit 3 Monroeville, PA, Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish 139 Gill Hall Road, Jefferson Hills, PA 15025, or the charity of your choosing.
