Thomas J. Lacey's Obituary
Thomas J. Lacey, age 83, of West Mifflin, PA died Tuesday, December 24.
Thomas was born March 18, 1936 in Homestead to the late Sylvester and Nell (Cook) Lacey. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Eileen Koehl Lacey, as well as his children Shaun (Lynn) Lacey of McMurray, PA; Lynne (Lawrence) Denicola of Montgomery Village, MD; Thomas (Antoinette) Lacey of Camp Hill, PA; Michael (Charlene) Lacey of Bethel Park, PA; and Kevin (Kelley) Lacey of Springfield, OH.
Thomas loved and cared deeply for all his family and especially his grandchildren, Kelly (Anthony) Bruno, Elizabeth (Paul) Ledbetter, Maura (Luke) Doney, Brett (Mallory), Joseph, Cecilia, Delaney, Karissa, and Aidan as well as his great-grandson Calvin. His siblings James, Gerard, Sylvester, Mary Anne Talarek, and Joseph also survive him.
Thomas earned his Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh and retired as a professor of Art Education from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He served as the president of the West Mifflin Area school board, president of the Pittsburgh Society of Sculptors, and was an avid golfer as well as a founding member of Holy Spirit Parish.
Family and friends will be received at JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236, (412) 655-4501, on Saturday, January 4 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Burial will follow.
