Thomas H. Bandi's Obituary
Thomas H. Bandi, born on October 12, 1938, of Upper St. Clair, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2023. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Phyllis. Loving father of Diane Valley (Gregory), David J. Bandi (Deborah), Nancy J. Welman (David). Beloved grandfather of David Bandi, Jr. (Julie), Dakota Welman, Emily Valley (John), Jullian Baker, Danielle Sedei (Chris) and great grandfather of Evelyn Bandi, Isabella Sedei and Luca Sedei. Son of the late John and Viola Bandi. Brother of Bea Gray (late Bill), Viola Luttringer (Joe) and Ginny Steigner (late Don) and the late Barb Heinecke (Bill), Sue Hirschinger (Bob), Teresa Counihan (George) John Bandi (Jean), Bob Bandi (Dolly), Jim Bandi (Connie) and Dick Bandi (Joan). Brother-in-Law of Maureen McColligan (Jack) and many nieces and nephews.
Tom was a letter carrier for the Bethel Park Post Office for 42 years. He was very hard working and proud of the remodeling he did in his home. He loved spending family time at Conneaut Lake, boating, long walks and landscaping. He was a teacup agility instructor and member of the Keystone Canine Training Club. He was a member of Therapy Dogs International and participated in pet therapy with his dogs, Tiffany, Amber Star, and Diamond for 20 years with over 1,000 visits to nursing homes and day care centers. Tom was involved in the Parkinson programs, enjoying many boxing classes, walking, and exercising with wonderful instructors at Westminster Presbyterian Church and Delay the Disease at Cool Springs Sports Complex. He was also a member of St. Paul of the Cross (St. Anne's Church).
Visitation at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home located at 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236 on Wednesday, March 15 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 16 at 10:00 am at St. Paul of the Cross (St. Winifred) located at 550 Sleepy Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15228. Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery located at 2900 Washington Road, Canonsburg, PA 15317.
