Stephen Shaytar's Obituary
At age 86, on Tuesday July 20th, in Frisco, TX, formerly of Lincoln Place and McKees Rocks, Stephen entered the gates of heaven. Predeceased by his parents Andrew and Anna Shaytar. Beloved husband of 61 years to Joanne Shaytar; lovingly remembered by daughter Karen (Carl) Marshalwitz of Gibsonia, PA and son Stephen V. (Deborah) Shaytar of Frisco, TX. Pappy will be greatly missed by grandchildren McKenzie Shaytar, Casey Marshalwitz and Cameron Marshalwitz. Loving brother of George (Nancy) Shaytar of Coraopolis, PA and Nicholas Lugin of Glenshaw, PA. Steve enlisted in the Air Force at age 17 and earned the Korean Service Medal for his tenure.
Steve was compassionate and loved his family and his Cocker Spaniel "Peanut" unconditionally. He was an avid Steeler and sports fan and loved talking about the "good old days" in McKees Rocks and going to the "beer joint". His faith was strong and raised Russian Orthodox.
Friends will be received on Sunday, July 25th from 1-7 P.M. and Monday, July 26th from 10-11A.M. at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Rd, Pittsburgh 15236.
A Funeral Service will begin at 11 A.M. on Monday, July 26th by Fr. Evgeni Peykov of St. Gregory's Russian Orthodox Church.
