It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley Kuchta, who left this world on December 24, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on January 3, 1935, Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and great-grandmother whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.
Shirley is preceded in death by her beloved husband Rudy Kuchta, son Matthew Kuchta and brothers Robert A Slanicka and Charles J Slanicka.
Shirley is survived by her devoted daughter, Kathy Farnish; her cherished granddaughter, Cassandra (Matt) Evanek, Jessica (Kavon) Rahimzadeh; great granddaughter Riley Evanek ; great granddaughter Capri Rahimzadeh and great grandson Rocco Rahimzadeh. Additionally she is survived by her sisters Jacquelyn Hranica, and Margaret Petty.
Shirley was very proud to have served her beloved Baldwin Borough for 27 years of service as the Borough Manager, while caring for her family. It was during that time, Rudy and Shirley acquired, with their daughter's growing family a former convent at St. Albert the Great on Churchview Avenue. It was a labor of love to renovate the property and to provide a loving home with their extended family. They lived there happily until 2017.
Shirley enjoyed travel and visited cities across Europe with her husband and closest friends. Following retirement, her and Rudy also shared a love for shopping, seeing movies, and dining out.
