Shirley M. Duffy's Obituary
Shirley M. Duffy, age 89, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8, 2025, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 11, 1936, the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Grill) Christian.
Shirley was the beloved wife of 64 years to John A. Duffy; the loving mother of Christine (Daniel) Simon and Paula (the late, Kevin) Weaver; and the cherished Grammy of Kevin Weaver, Jr., Allison Weaver, Catherina Simon and Faith Simon.
Shirley enjoyed a long career at Kribel's Bakery in Pleasant Hills for over 30 years, retiring at the age of 78. She was well known among the customers for her bubbly and welcoming personality.
A natural born caretaker, Shirley loved being a wife and a mother, but her greatest joy was unlocked as her family expanded when welcoming her grandchildren. She adored being a Grammy to her four grandchildren and cherished the moments spent with them.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A service will be held in honor of Shirley on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 10:00 am in the chapel at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately.
