Mom had such an amazing life. She spent so much time engaged in the things she loved. Her talent for positively impacting people's lives was evident in so many things she did. As a teacher in the Baldwin-Whitehall School District for 33 years, she educated more than one generation, not just with knowledge, but also by example of how to lead a good life and how to be a good person. She also used her teaching skills to teach English as a second language to many through the Pittsburgh Literacy Council. She loved to sing and was a member of The Yankee Doodle Dandies, a senior singing and performing group that brought joy to many with their shows at nursing homes and senior centers. She also shared her beautiful singing voice while singing in the choir at the former Whitehall Presbyterian Church. In her later days, as her body wasn't keeping up with her spirit, she moved into Atria Senior Living in Pleasant Hills, where she participated in every singing activity she could. The most amazing thing she ever did, however, was to form me into the person I am. She taught me how to love, how to care, how to make people laugh, how to be a decent person and how to be the best that I can be. Her guidance, sometimes gentle, sometimes stern, has made my path through life fulfilling and rewarding. I thank you, mom, and I love you. You will live in my heart for all my days.
