Sherry Lee Nehr's Obituary
Sherry Nehr, 86, of Whitehall, passed away on July 8, 2025, in Pittsburgh, PA. She was born in Detroit Michigan, to the late William and Mary Schafer.
Sherry was a loving mother to Jeffrey (Cheryl) Nehr and Greg (Brenda) Nehr; the grandmother of Ashley (Trey) Rabinek, and Gabrielle (Andrew) Wasmuth, Spencer, Brian, Matthew and Courtney Nehr; and the great grandmother of Everly and Ryder Rabinek and Miles Wasmuth.
Sherry is preceded in death by her loving spouse of 67 years John Lawrence Nehr, and her sisters, Sally McNary and Carol Schaefer.
Sherry and John led a fulfilling and active life together. When John was stationed in Japan, Sherry was right there with him and took advantage of everything Japan's culture had to offer, including achieving her brown belt in Judo, and learning how to make Japanese dolls.
Sherry genuinely enjoyed doing secretarial work for a variety of businesses over her lifetime. During her free time her and John stayed active by camping, square dancing, bowing, golfing or setting sail on an ocean cruise.
Later in life Sherry could be found using her creative skills to craft one of a kind dollhouses for her grand children, watching her favorite game shows and playing board games and solving puzzles, especially sodoku.
Outgoing, friendly, and easy to get along with, Sherry was quick to make friends out of any new neighbors while walking and chatting about her grandchildren or her Scotty dogs.
A visitation will be held on Saturday July 12th at 1:30pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home 301 Curry Hollow Rd. Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A Blessing Service will follow at 2:30pm in the funeral home chapel.
