Sheron Hunter's Obituary
Sheron Hunter, age 82, of Pittsburgh, went home to be with The Lord on Friday, July 24, 2026, while surrounded by the love of her family. Born on August 18, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Dwight and Dolores (Lockwood) Burns.
Sheron was the beloved wife of 58 years to Frank Hunter; the loving mother of Sherri (CJ) Williams and Scott (Molly) Hunter and the cherished grandmother of Noah (Sydney), Grace (Stephen), Judah (Sydney), Gabriel (Addie), Charity, Henry (Randi) and Lily. Sheron also leaves two great grandchildren, whom she adored, Micah and Asa; and her brother, David Burns.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sondra Lutz.
A proud graduate of Indiana Teacher's College, Sheron pursued her passion for art and became a dedicated art teacher. She was cherished not only in her professional life but also in her home life as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Sheron had a profound love for animals, particularly her horses, Wooley and Jubilee, and found joy in activities such as stamp collecting. Her commitment to her faith was evident through her active involvement in her church community at Providence Reformed Presbyterian Church.
Her warmth and compassion touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
A funeral service in honor of Sheron will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. Burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Sheron's name may be made to Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary, 7418 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15208.
